He went to Paris and took a shot of this dreamiest wedding dress I've ever seen!I still havent asked him why it was in the camera when I was uploading the pics to the pc. Which reminds me I should. Gosh, I would love love love for this to be my wedding dress.
Speaking of wedding, I am a year late with posting my best friend's wedding photos. I AM INDEED VERY LATE, cos she is already 4 months pregnant! Congrats darling! I am so happy for you and cannot wait to land the godmother title. Heheh! She had an authentic traditional Malay wedding with a touch of modern chicness to it.
Her theme: all red roses.
It was actually my first time attending a Malay wedding. She was looking so stunning! For Malay marriage customs, the groom is to present gifst to his bride. She got an array of all things Dior.

Ignorance and Close Mindedness
I live in Singapore. I am not Chinese but I have been born in this 'somewhat' Chinese country where around 80% of our population are Chinese. Well, the word 'somewhat' is rather forgiving! So, has it been difficult for me? Not really, I've well learnt to live with it, as I turn right and turn left, all I hear is Chinese being spoken till I can speak and understand Chinese to a certain extent.
In Primary School, we had to opt for a second language as a subject. And there were only two options we could choose from, Malay or Chinese. I am not Malay either and given these two options, Malay was the easier language to grasp as it uses the English alphabet hence I took Malay as a second language. In my Primary school, the students who opted for Malay as their 2nd language, had to switch to another class everyday. Everyday, the Chinese teacher would enter the classroom and go like, 'Ok Malay girls go to your Malay class now' This was annoying when said everyday and one day a 9 year old me, pardon me I was young, went up to her and said, Some of us are not Malay, so can you not call us,'Malay girls go to your other classroom' Then she would look at me blankly and reply, 'Yes, you are! All the same la...You learning Malay, so you are Malay!' No, its not all the same, dumbass. Shame on you, kids have to be taught by your incompetent close minded brain. (For those non Singaporeans, 'La' is a Singaporean slang term. Normally added at the back of a sentence for extra oomph and colour!) So, at 9 years old, I would question myself on why a 40 year old woman, teacher furthermore, could be such a mooncalf!
Now I am in my 20's and I still get people between the ages of 30-45,(mind you) still asking me,Re: It's the Muslim fasting month this September.
"You're Catholic right? How come you are not fasting?" My reply, "Fasting? It's the Muslim fasting month now you know. Why should I be fasting now? Catholics and Muslims dont have the same fasting month!" Gosh! The ignorance of these people really frustrate me! Are you for real sir, mam? No seriously... are you for real?"
There's also people I've met along the way that think just because your name doesnt end with a Chan, Tan, Ng or Lee, and that you have an English surname, you must be Malay. Let me clear the air for you, Malays do not have English names/surnames!
That's why I say, new parents or parents to be, please teach your kids about the different types of races and religions out here in Singapore and the history of these races/religions as well. There are other races here besides just the Malay and Chinese you know. Malays have Malay names, such as Siti, Fatimah, Nurul, Aishah followed by binte Ahmad etc...When someone has an English surname, such as Conceicao, Fitzpatrick, De Costa, Dragon, Fox, Neubronner, Monteiro, Woodford, etc, they normally are Catholics/Eurasians and in no way are Muslims/Malays. Ok got it! Or do i have to write these things in a convenient Handbook and print and bind them as a Your Guide to the Different Races and Religions in Singapore, and have every Primary School Principal give these out to students on their First Day of School!

The Ignorance of People
One of June VOGUE fashion spreads, titled "From Here to Timbuktu", did leave some perplexing sentiments in me as I flipped through the pages. I actually felt a sense of disgust. I have no idea what An_a Wi_to_r of VOGUE was even thinking to run such an article. But dont get me wrong, Anna, you are sophisticated but then again if I had that amount of money, I could appear just as sophisticated as well. I digress.
As much as I loved the vibrancy of the photo shoot with arrays of colours splashed across the page but to label the photo captions along with the prices of each piece of garment knowing that the photos had the poorest of the poor children of Africa in them? It was really disguting! And the worst of it all, to top off the ignorance of the fashion magazine, whilst the model, Liya Kebede, was clad in these expensive designer luxury wear; the children photographed wore their own clothes! Which we all are aware consists of mix and matched hand me down clothes or shall I say rags, sent from all the world. And another thing that comes to my mind, were the Africans in the backdrop even paid by VOGUE for photographing them? Even if not paid, perhaps paid in exchange for food ration or something close to that sort. I really hope so cause they really could use the money or food supplies!
A $3,915 Cavalli pleated chiffon dress and $1,835 blouse.
A $1,195 Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere silk dress. Yes, there is a significant vast difference of the top to bottom scale of richness and poorness in the world, but to photograph it? Was there really a need to capture and publicize such divarication? Could they not just have filmed in the wilderness of Africa, with animals as a backdrop of the photograph instead of using the poor children of Africa?

I love my Ma
My Mother was going on yesterday about losing her gold ring that never failed to leave her finger for almost 25 years. Apparently she dropped it in Church. I told her jokingly, God granted you your prayers and took your ring in exchange. Heh!
Well anyways, she was whining for me to buy her another gold ring as a replacement. Just like how I whined to her to get me the Tiffany Heart tag charm bracelet for my 21st. She agreed. The tables have now turned and I kinda like it.

The Twins Turn 25
It was the twins birthday yesterday. I arranged a dinner for 6 last night just for them. I would have invited more, but most of us only have 6 chairs at the table plus I wanted it to be a sit down affair. Had Indian (Nasi briyani with mutton curry, pappadams, and cucumber with milk and Eurasian cuisine.(Devil Curry) Went to Canele just to buy macaroons so I could wrap them up as table favours for each of them. Yes, and I actually went to the extent of buying "25" silver streamers to hang from the ceiling spotlights. I thought it was reallly cool at the same time ,lame as well, so thats why I went on to buy them. Cost me $10 just to appear lame. I am going to save it for my 25th wedding anniversary. In 25 years time. And those white balloons.. he was instructing me to stop blowing them, but I insisted. What's a party without balloons? I was soo tired when they left. I kicked up my feet and watched Breakfast at Tifanny's. Audrey Hepburn's classy style... always a pleasure.

Catherine Hammerton's Wallpaper
Meet Catherine Hammerton? Have you seen her vintage collection of wallpaper? It's really pretty. I love the explicit detailing in the objects she chooses to place on the wallpaper. How she does them? She weaves handmade details, like cut-outs, embroidery and silkscreen onto the wallpaper. Her wallpaper is all made to order.
